A New Chapter: This is a chance to share myself to the world regardless of what others think, I'm willing to be the unique expression after professional boxing and traumatic brain injury survivor.I have freedom to live my life and forget the mistakes of the past and press on. Can you relate?
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.” 1 Cor. 10:12
Are you making excuses already? Making the ultimate poor choices this New Year 2012? It’s only the new beginning. Wait one second! It’s Friday the 13th, January 2012 and this is the “Mind of the Tiger Lady” sitting here at the computer of course.
I’d like to share a few moments with you, I’m sure you wouldn’t mind. I am the “Tiger Lady” an alcoholic/addict. I use to be shameful and show a lot of resentment, anger and just had a self defeating attitude! Have you ever carried on in such a manner?
I DO ADMIT I AM POWERLESS! I had been sober for 5 years and one glass of Champagne on New Year’s night wasn’t even worth it! It was a very poor decision on my part. I blame NO ONE! But MYSELF! Life seems to be filled with trigger situations when you are recovering from alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex and it goes on.
A lifestyle of fame, having your way in notorious ways in impurities, your outcome is to take control in what you have done to reshape your experience of life trying to focus on the objective of what realistic is all about. Do you understand me? It’s real easy to be a “talker” and it’s real easy to “do.” You and I can be very lazy; we won’t do a damn thing until it’s too late, then what? Having a self defeating attitude takes a lot out of you. What about the self destructive attitude? It is said “The alcoholic leads a double life; very much the actor.”
Maybe it’s time to honor you, focus on the good in others. The best thing about all of this is having the courage and discipline, mind and body to build true character. You should honor yourself and respect your mind and body. Be aware of your limits, you deserve to have an awesome life this New Year 2012! It’s time for some self empowerment.
The first thing you must do is to learn to be honest, to be loyal to yourself; it will be truly awesome to be in touch with your inner being. Live a clean and sober life and if you try to do everything yourself, I promise you will be struggling very hard to keep your own house in order. It will be a challenge that will require you to have a fierce determination for new habits. “Soaring high with the Tiger Lady 2012!”
“Some of us didn’t “look like” addicts, but we were; some of us, on the other hand, did look like addicts. At first, drugs or booze turned us on; but later they turned on us. We couldn’t find any peace anywhere. We began to turn into the kind of person we didn’t want to be.
But we didn’t know what was happening to us or how to change it. When we came to believe that our lives could and would turn around if we would quit drinking or using drugs, things began to get better. Do I believe I can change?
Lord, help me to be open – minded and humble enough to believe that what has worked to change the lives of others will work to change mine. I will seek change in the following ways today: (From the Book of Hazelden Day By Day)
